Street theatre festival Streeta(rt)nimation to host 120 free shows

On 11 – 12th August 2012, the Luxembourg City Tourist Office (LCTO) organizes the annual street theatre festival Streeta(rt)nimation in the centre of Luxembourg city. The festival attracts thousands of enthusiastic inhabitants and visitors.

Every edition hosts roughly 80 international artists and 130 free shows in the pedestrian zone of Luxembourg. Artistic genres include comedy, stilters, travelling musicians, tumblers as well as walk acts with crazy fantastic creatures who will take you to a coloured fantasy world of poetry and comedy. All performances are free of charge, just as all open air festivals organized every year by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office during the summertime.

The festival has been launched by the Luxembourg City Tourist Office in 1995 when Luxembourg was for the first time "European Capital of Culture". Seventeen years later, this street theatre festival is one of the most attractive August highlights. The Streeta(rt)nimation is part of the summer campaign "Summer in the city" whose open air events transform Luxembourg-city into a bustling and trendy cultural destination. It stands for the LCTO's sustained efforts in terms of long term culture and destination management.
