The structures that have been awarded by the EureWelcome label are referenced regularly. Reliable data on the degree of accessibility of multiple sites are stored in the database.

1/ VOCALISING

Luxembourg City Tourist Office is increasing accessibility to its internet site at www.lcto.lu for blind or visually impaired people, using the ReadSpeaker® voice synthesis technology from VoiceCorp®.
The content of the site can now converted into voice, listened to or recorded in.mp3 format

• by clicking on the LISTEN image at the head of each page

• by using the accesskey 2 (read below), preceded by a combination of keys corresponding to your internet browser.

 

2/ ACCESSKEYS or KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS

ACCESSKEYS, or KEYBOARD SHORTCUTS, enable web pages to be browsed using the keyboard only.
These combinations of keys have been introduced to facilitate browsing by many surfers including those with disabilities.

One procedure per browser

The procedure varies from one browser to another.
To key numbers of accesskeys: it is sometimes preferable to use buttons at the top of the keyboard (Shift key in addition), and not those of the numerical pad.
