The National Archives of Luxembourg were inaugurated in the former military hospital on the Holy Ghost Plateau in 1967; the equipment and the facilities meet the most exacting requirements for the preservation of historical documents.
The building itself dates from the epoch of the Prussian domination, i.e. the years 1857 to 1860.
After the Prussian troops' withdrawal, it served as barracks for the volunteer army up to the Second World War.
