Future Balance Statement
The development of tourism in Luxembourg is the result of voluntary action. On the one hand, initiatives came first of all from individuals and pioneers. Then, associations played an important role. The official setting up on 6 December 1933 of the “Syndicat d’Initiative et de Tourisme de la Ville de Luxembourg", the predecessor of today's Luxembourg City Tourist Office, reflected a desire to “give new impetus to the tourism trade”, a claim which still holds true today.
