In 2015, José Ovejero has adapted to the stage three short stories from his books Qué raros son los hombres and Mujeres que viajan solas, He interprets himself all the characters.
This project is and attempt to bridge de gap between reader and autor; between the reading of a text and its conception.
Three very different stories are represented. In the first one Las penas del infierno, we witness the difficult relation between a man, his wife, and his daughter.
Follows Julia, Pablo y el cubo de Rubik, where we find Julia, who lives her adolescence and first youth in Spain's Transition years. She tries to find a compromise between her political beliefs and a love relation with Pablo, just interested in music and drugs.
Lastly, Los compañeros de viaje, Elias tells about an encounter between him and his wife and another couple in a Mexican beach, which develops into a complex relationship where nothing is what it looks like.
This play, which lasts nearly 90 minutes, has been represented in San Juan de Puerto Rico, Managua, Easton (Pennsylvania), Nueva York, Brussels and Madrid.
Not recommended for children under 16 years.
